F-150 offers FFV option on 5.4L Triton V8. Ford Flex-Fuel vehicles (FFVs) give you the power of choice. E85 or gasoline? The FFV 5.4L TritonR V8s a no-cost option that lets you decide right at the pump. The F-150 FFV can run on E85 (85% ethanol/15% gasoline), straight gasoline or any combination of the two - just fill up with your fuel of choice. As you drive, the Powertrain Control Module determines the ethanol/gas mixture, and automatically adjusts for optimum performance. Since Ford introduced E85 FFVs back in the mid-1990s, we've put nearly two million on the road, with refinements being made all along the way. The benefits of ethanol-based fuel are substantial: it produces significantly less greenhouse gas (GHG),it can be made from renewable domestic crops such as corn, and switching to E85 has the potential to reduce our dependence on imported oil. Ford is offering FFV technology to deliver these benefits to you.
