Technology: With its integrated Multi Media Interface (MMI), the A8 offers a complete revolution in interior dynamics, giving the driver a simple, direct method of control. Rain sensor. The A8 wipers automatically activate when they detect rainfall on the windscreen. The intermittent-wipe interval varies automatically to match the amount of rain.
Bang and Olufsen Adavnced Sound System. More than 1,000 watts. 14 speakers. And a sound like nothing else out there. The new Bang and Olufsen Advanced Sound System offers sound that's purer, richer and deeper.
MMI. Audi's Multi Media Interface is a highly intuitive and simple to use system that allows you to control a range of features including ride dynamics, your entertainment system, your environment, and the Audi Navigation System.

Air bags. Front seat passengers are protected by airbags with two-stage activation, while the driver is protected by an innovative ring-type airbag, whose radial unfolding pattern is proven more effective in reducing accident injury.
Active head restraints. Head restraints can play an active role in reducing injury. In the event of a rear-end collision, the A8's restraints pivot forwards, reducing the risk of whiplash neck injuries.

Performance: Take a race-bred 450 hp V10. Add FSI (R) Direct Injection technology. Make 398 lb-ft of torque available. Move from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Leave every other car far, far behind. And look absolutely stunning while doing so.

5.2 FSI (R) V10 Engine. For the first time in the history of the Audi brand, a 10-cylinder engine with FSI (R) direct injection is used. Ten cylinders not only imply leading-edge automobile engineering and a clear declaration of the brand claim of "Vorsprung durch Technik". Ten cylinders are also the essence of emotive power and motor sport in its purest form: 10 cylinders, 5.2 liters displacement, 450 hp and a maximum torque of 398 lbs-ft. at 3,500 rpm.
Adaptive Air Suspension : Sport. It is the car's suspension that matters, particularly as the physical limits of handling and tire grip are approached. The Audi S8 has therefore been equipped with suspension specially matched to its performance potential and for the forces that are likely to develop. Sport version featured on the S8 offers 20mm lower ride height than the A8 for improved control.
6 speed Tiptronic transmission. A 30% wider gear spread than the five-speed in the predecessor allows for improved low end torque and increased fuel efficiency. The Dynamic Shift Program (DSP) automatically adjusts to driver's driving style.
quattro (R). Enhanced driving dynamics, optimum traction, excellent agility and responsiveness and improved safety. What is new in the Audi S8 is an asymmetric, dynamic torque split. If required, an integrated Torsen center differential distributes the output in the ratio of 40:60 between the front and rear axle.

Design: The Audi S8 takes the equation of style, refinement and luxury that is the Audi A8 and transforms it with an array of sporting features. A muscular and confident exterior and a exeptionally luxurious interior only begin to tell the story. No single superlative can quite do it justice.

Aluminum Trim. Aluminum door sill trim and brushed aluminum-look exterior mirrors make a stylish yet subtle impression.

FSI (R) direct injection. Adapted from motor racing, the FSI (R) direct injection principle used for the Audi S8 permits the engine's compression ratio to be raised exceptionally high for even more efficient combustion. The results are higher power output and torque compared with conventional engines using multipoint fuel injection, together with lower fuel consumption.
B&O Advanced Sound System. True musical pleasure for the ears and eyes: the new high-end sound system made by the Bang & Olufsen company. 14 active high-end self -contained loudspeakers, a uniquely programmed digital sound processor (DSP) and high-efficiency ICEpower amplifiers redefine in-car listening standards.

ESP. The Electronic Stability Program reacts in 0.02 seconds to bring hazardous situations under control. By monitoring wheel speeds, slip angles and the position of the steering wheel, ESP can apply brakes and reduce power to individual wheels until full traction and control is restored.

Safety: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded the 2007 Audi Q7 their highest-possible ratings for front and side crash protection.
